The Adult Choir meets every Thursday (from the Thursday after Labor day until the Beginning of Ordinary Time in Spring/Summer) for practice. We rotate singing at each of the three parish masses - about 34 masses each year. We sing Evening Praise for the feast of St. Cecilia.
The Saturday Night Choir meets during Ordinary Time, Simple one part and two part music is learned beginning at 4pm and then we minister at that night's 5pm mass. At 3:30 music reading class is offered per request.
The Women's Choir sings on Saturdays in Advent and for the Solemnities of Mary. This amounts to about 8 times each year. The women's Choir meets 1 hour and 15 minutes before mass begins to learn music. Adult women who join this ministry MUST be willing to take the Virtus Training that is offered through the archdiocese of Milwaukee because girls in grades 5 and up are invited to sing in this Choir.
The Men's Choir sings on Saturdays in Lent and for The Solemnities of St. Joseph, All Saints and Ash Wednesday. This amounts to about 8 times each year. - Like the Women's Choir, the Men's Choir meets 1 hour and 15 minutes before mass begins to learn music. Adult men who join this ministry MUST be willing to take the Virtus Training that is offered through the archdiocese of Milwaukee because boys in grades 5 and up are invited to sing in this Choir. |
